Abstract
Copper(I) chemistry of aminobis(phosphines), pyridyl phosphines, and phosphines appended on nitrogen-heterocycles, such as pyridine, imidazole, pyrazole, and triazole is reviewed in this chapter. Both aminobis(phosphines) and pyridyl phosphines due to the short P…P and N…P separation, prefer bridging coordination and bring two copper atoms in close proximity, which has a profound effect on their photophysical properties. Other N-heterocycles appended to phosphines also show versatile coordination modes and luminescent properties. The synthesis of copper(I) complexes of these ligands is also discussed.
