Abstract
Geoelectrical studies have been widely used for characterization of the subsurface features for groundwater exploration, environmental aspects, etc. The present study involves the application of multi-electrode resistivity imaging (MERI) to demarcate potential zones for groundwater exploration. The Wenner-Schlumberger (WS) array has been deployed for the mapping of weathered and fractured zones. Previously, in the study area (Ambaji basin, Gujarat), a number of drill wells failed and dried up due to a lack of understanding of the local fracture systems. Hence, this geoelectrical investigation has been conducted in fractured basement rocks for sitting borewells for sustainable groundwater use in the Ambaji basin (Aravalli terrane), Gujarat, India.
