Abstract
A method focussed on recognition of faults in network of power incorporated with thyristor controlled reactor (TCR) is presented in this article. Study presented is related to faults on power system network like line to ground (LG), line to line (LL), line to line involving the ground (LLG) and three phases to ground (LLLG) fault. Proposed approach is using Hilbert Huang Transform and ruled decision tree. It is found to be effective for recognition and classifying the above mentioned faults observed in power system network incorporated with TCR. Current consumed by load with TCR is effective feature for identificaion of faults on network of power system. Presented study is validated with a test network in MATLAB.
