Abstract
The major cause of degraded antenna performance is due to undesired effect called mutual coupling. The suppression of this effect can be done by various methods like defected ground structure, EBG (Electromagnetic Band gap Structure) structures. The easiest mutual coupling reduction technique is by increasing the spacing between the antenna elements. In this paper, the antenna array is presented which consists of compact bistatic microstrip patch antenna designed using shorting posts and coaxial probe feed. The results are obtained for three substrates of different circular radii and the results are compared for the three different antenna arrays. One antenna work as a transmitter andother as a receiver simulating in the frequency range of X-band(8-12Ghz) with substrate permittivity 10.8. The results have been simulated in CST (Computer Simulation Technology) software using coaxial probe feed and the various plots has been observed with respectto spacing between the antennas.
